Chiropractic is a complete system of healthcare focused on restoring, preserving, and optimizing health by natural hands-on care. The only objective of chiropractic is to detect and remove subluxations in order to restore proper nerve flow.
While conventional medicine focuses on curing illness through surgery and pharmaceuticals, the goal of chiropractic is to optimize health with a non-invasive approach that does not use drugs or surgery.
Chiropractic’s primary avenue of care is adjusting the spine and framework of the body to help restore the nervous system. When our joints are not positioned correctly it affects the nerves exiting the spine. Chiropractic care attends to these irritations along the spine by manually repositioning the joints. This is a chiropractic “adjustment.”
The word "chiropractic" comes from the Greek words cheir (hand) and praxis (action), and simply means "done by hand." OPA!
In simplest terms, a subluxation is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of their proper position and create pressure on your spinal nerves causing them to malfunction and interfere with signals traveling over those nerves.
Your nervous system controls all functions of your body. If you interfere with the signals traveling over nerves, your body will not receive the proper nerve messages and will not function at 100%.
Chiropractors locate subluxations and reduce or correct them. This is done through a series of chiropractic adjustments specifically designed to correct the vertebral subluxations in your spine. Chiropractors are the only professionals who undergo years of training to correct subluxations and restore proper nerve flow.
Maybe you are experiencing a health challenge. Or maybe you feel good and are just curious about what chiropractic can do for you. Chiropractic can help everyone.
Either way you already know that chiropractic has something to do with the spine. If you're like most people you have been programmed to think that whenever you go to a doctor you are there to have something "fixed." In other words, you go to the doctor so that something WON'T happen; to experience LESS of something.
But chiropractic is actually the complete opposite of this! The whole reason for getting adjusted and keeping your neurological connection clear is so that something WILL happen - a more complete expression of health, energy, and life.
The truth is that as a chiropractor I don't "treat" anything. What I do is restore the CONNECTION between you and your body. I like to say that "I connect you, your innate intelligence corrects you." When you get adjusted, you are ensuring that your body is free to do its job so you keep getting stronger and healthier all of the time.Schedule an Appointment
